On the morning of January 16th, the Trang Trinh Temple Festival 2026 took place at the Square of the National Special Relic Area, Temple of Trang Trinh Cultural Figure Nguyen Binh Khiem (Nguyen Binh Khiem commune, Hai Phong).

The opening ceremony took place in a solemn and respectful atmosphere with full of traditional rituals such as: wooden festival, reporting ceremony, incense offering ceremony, procession ceremony and anniversary ceremony.
Prominent are the processions of people from Trung Am, Lang Am, Tien Am villages; processions of communes in Vinh Bao district (old) and processions of the Education and Training sector, with flower palanquins, incense palanquins, and offerings imbued with local cultural identity, expressing deep gratitude to the talented people.
Within the framework of the festival, at Nguyen Binh Khiem Square, an art program with the theme "Sacred Land of Trang" took place, along with many cultural, sports, folk games such as: earth firecrackers, traditional objects, chess, human chess, volleyball, folk dance exchange; displaying and introducing OCOP products of local and friendly units, attracting a large number of people and visitors from all directions to participate.
Trang Trinh Temple Festival 2026 takes place in three days, from January 15 to 17. This is the first year Nguyen Binh Khiem commune has organized a festival according to the 2-level local government model, showing the inheritance and promotion of traditional cultural values, contributing to building an increasingly civilized and rich in identity grassroots cultural life.
Trang Trinh Nguyen Binh Khiem was born in 1491 in Trung Am village, now Nguyen Binh Khiem commune, Hai Phong city. He was a great poet, thinker, and outstanding cultural figure of the Vietnamese nation in the 16th century.
Do Trang Nguyen Khoa Thi At Mui (1535), he used to be an official under the Mac Dynasty, then hung the seal from his position, returned to his hometown to open a school to teach, and composed many works of great value in thought and literature, typically Bach Van Thi Tap. With a widespread influence, he was respected by the people as Trang Trinh.
Trang Trinh Temple Festival is a deeply meaningful traditional cultural activity to commemorate and honor the great contributions of Trang Trinh Nguyen Binh Khiem. At the same time, it contributes to educating the tradition of studiousness, patriotism, and the morality of "drinking water, remembering the source" for all classes of people, especially the young generation.
