Nga Temple is an ancient architectural work built by the people to worship Nguyen Chinh - a famous person with all talents in literature and martial arts, a historical figure of the Tran Dynasty (13th century), who made many contributions to defeating the Nguyen-Mong invaders for the 3rd time and was rewarded by the king and awarded additional titles. After his death, the local people remembered his merits and built a temple to worship him to this day.
Previously, Nga Temple was a rather massive architectural work, once honored as one of the famous spiritual realms of the ancient Vinh Lai region, including 13 compartments (5 outer palace compartments, 5 inner palace compartments and 3 forbidden palace compartments).
During the resistance wars against the French, Nga Temple was the workplace of the local resistance committee, the base of the main force troops... The two inner and outer temples were destroyed by the French invaders, leaving only the foundation marking the old scale of the project.

Through the ups and downs of history, Nga Temple has always been preserved, restored, invested in construction and upgraded by local people. Currently, the temple has a fairly large area, a spacious and beautiful landscape including 5 front halls, 3 forbidden palace halls forming a Dinh-style layout. This place also preserves many valuable artifacts and antiques.
On December 12, 1994, Nga Temple was ranked by the state as a national historical and cultural relic. To show gratitude and remember the predecessors who have contributed to the people and the country, the locality annually organizes the traditional Nga Temple festival, for 3 days, from the 10th to the 12th day of the 3rd lunar month.
This year's traditional Nga Temple festival takes place from April 26 to the end of April 28 with traditional rituals and cultural, artistic, sports and many other folk games. This is an opportunity for children and grandchildren to remember the merits of the ancients, preserve national cultural identity, and at the same time promote the image of Vinh Thinh, Hai Phong homeland to friends near and far.
