The Standing Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee assigned the Cat Hai Special Zone People's Committee to strengthen the management of the operations of passenger transport enterprises and owners of tourist passenger vehicles in Lan Ha Bay, ensuring order, traffic safety and environmental sanitation. In which, strengthen the inspection of the operation of inland waterway vehicles such as ships, tenders, speedboats... ; inspect the compliance with regulations on technical safety conditions, crew members, vehicle operators, fire and explosion prevention and fighting, life-saving equipment and the disclosure of ticket prices.
The Special Zone resolutely does not allow the departure of vehicles that do not ensure safety conditions to operate; strengthen inspection, review, and handling of cases of organizing recreational activities underwater in violation of regulations; coordinate with relevant units to soon announce areas for recreational activities underwater in accordance with regulations.
The Standing Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee also directed the review of all operations of bamboo boats, people's canoes, vehicles of aquaculture households and vehicles carrying tourists to visit the Sang and Toi cave areas. In which, specific regulations on operations and management measures to ensure safety for people and tourists.
Cat Hai Special Zone fully arranges signs and buoys on the channel, at accommodation points and anchorage points; inspects and reviews the location of aquaculture cages and rafts, not allowing them to affect the safety of passenger vehicles operating on the channel.
In addition, the locality is studying and proposing to invest in floating wharves in tourist and sightseeing areas in the bay, ensuring compliance with regulations, safety and convenience for tourists; studying the installation of a surveillance camera system to manage the operation of vehicles and entertainment locations in the bay.
City leaders also assigned Cat Hai special zone to study expanding Gia Luan and Cai Beo inland waterway ports to meet the needs of anchoring and picking up and dropping off passengers of passenger transport vehicles, ensuring order and safety for people and vehicles.
For vehicle owners who are closed-roof speedboats, the city encourages proactive conversion to vehicle types that are more suitable for the terrain characteristics and natural conditions of Lan Ha Bay, such as iron-hulled ships or iron-hulled tenders. Thereby improving the safety level in transportation and tourism activities in the bay.
