Khuc Thua Du Temple is a relic associated with National Hero Khuc Thua Du, who made the first contribution to building autonomy for the Vietnamese nation in the 10th century. Being recognized as a tourist destination continues to affirm the value of the relic, and at the same time opens up a direction to promote heritage associated with traditional education, serving the needs of people and tourists to visit and learn about history and culture.
According to the decision, the People's Committee of Khuc Thua Du commune is responsible for organizing the management, protection and exploitation of tourist sites in accordance with regulations; ensuring conditions for serving tourists, security, order, safety, environmental sanitation, fire prevention and fighting and other necessary conditions. This is also the basis for the locality to continue to invest in management, introduction and exploitation of historical and cultural values of relics in a suitable, effective and sustainable way.
It is expected that the announcement ceremony of "National Historical Relic Khuc Thua Du Temple" as a tourist destination will take place at the Traditional Festival of Khuc Thua Du Temple in 2026, held from August 31 to September 2, on the occasion of commemorating the 1,119th anniversary of the death of National Hero Khuc Thua Du.
This year's festival is organized with many cultural, sports and traditional ritual activities. On August 31st, there is a cáo yết ceremony, temple khai quang, banh chung wrapping contest and Moc duc ceremony. On September 1st, there will be a ceremony, an expanded chess tournament, a cáo yết ancestral ceremony of the Khuc Clan Council of Vietnam, a men's volleyball tournament, a cultural exchange program and fireworks display to celebrate the festival.
On the main festival day of September 2nd, ceremonies of offering sacrifices and incense to commemorate the national hero Khuc Thua Du will be held along with the drum festival program, lion and dragon dance, welcoming arts, and a general speech about the merits and career of the national hero Khuc Thua Du. In particular, the program includes water puppetry performances performed by Hong Phong water puppetry troupe; firecracker tournament between villages and women's volleyball tournament.
