Christmas is approaching and American cities have begun to bustle with decorative activities to celebrate Christmas this year. In particular, New York is considered the busiest and best place for visitors to experience an unforgettable Christmas.
The Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center is a symbolic image that was traditionally formed more than 80 years ago, originating from the donations of Italian immigrants during the Great Depression. Today, the pine tree is still a place that attracts locals and tourists to celebrate Christmas.
This year's Christmas tree will be a 25m high Norwegian banyan tree, brought from Queensbury, New York to Manhattan on November 12, 2022. The pine tree weighs approximately 14 tons and has a diameter of 15.2m.
The pine tree will be decorated with more than 50,000 colorful LED lights, a brilliant Swarovski star weighing about 0.4kg and 70 thorns covered with 3 million crystals.
The pine tree lighting ceremony will take place on Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at the Rockefeller Center. At the same time, a special TV show will be broadcast live from here on NBC from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. ( ET).
As usual, the pine tree lighting ceremony will have grand performances, making visitors completely immersed in the Christmas atmosphere. The event is open to the public and visitors free of charge.
The pine tree will be lit up every day from 6:00 a.m. to midnight throughout the holiday season, lasting until early January. In particular, on New Year's Eve, the pine tree will only be lit from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
After the holiday ends, this pine tree will be cut into wood and donated to the Habitat Housing Support Organization to help provide housing for families in need. This has been a practice since 2007, with the hope of bringing a true Christmas spirit to everyone.
