On April 4, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports organized a program to celebrate the 1st Ho Chi Minh City Sports Festival in 2026 in Zone 3, taking place at the Revolutionary Tradition House (No. 1 Ba Cu, Vung Tau ward), with the participation of representatives of many communes and wards in the eastern area of the city.
The program takes place with many attractive sports activities, attracting a large number of people and tourists to participate such as: arts performances; drum festival performances, lion dances; martial arts and music performances; yoga performances; running to accompany the campaign "All people practice physical exercise following the example of the great Uncle Ho"...
From early morning, thousands of people gathered in the Revolutionary Traditional House area to watch activities and participate in events. Notably, the accompanying running activity attracted more than 1,000 people and tourists to participate.

According to the Organizing Committee, sports activities are organized to celebrate the 2026 Ho Chi Minh City Sports Festival, and also to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the traditional day of Vietnam's Sports industry (March 27, 1946 - March 27, 2026); 50th anniversary of Ho Chi Minh City's Sports industry (March 1976 - 2026).
This year's Ho Chi Minh City Sports Festival has a scale of about 46 sports, with 852 sets of medals, and is expected to have over 6,500 athletes from 168 communes, wards, special zones, and forces participating in the competition.
Through the congress, it aims to discover and select outstanding athletes to participate in the 10th National Sports Games in 2026. At the same time, promote the mobilization of people to participate in the movement "All people practice physical exercise following the example of the great Uncle Ho" in the city.
