On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of National Day on September 2, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Lao Cai province and localities organized many unique cultural, sports and tourism programs. This is also one of the factors that contribute to attracting a large number of tourists to Lao Cai during the holiday.
Key tourist destinations such as Sa Pa, Bac Ha, Mu Cang Chai and Suoi Giang all recorded a large number of visitors. In which, Sa Pa leads with 109,490 (6,932 international visitors and 102,558 domestic visitors), room occupancy reached 95%. Here, visitors participate in many activities to explore nature and experience local culture.
Bac Ha is expected to welcome about 12,000 visitors, with room occupancy reaching 90%. Tourists mainly visit specialty markets and learn about ethnic cultures.
Mu Cang Chai and Tu Le also attracted nearly 20,000 visitors, the room occupancy rate reached about 75%.
According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Lao Cai province, the total revenue from tourists during the 4 holidays reached about 702 billion VND; of which international visitors contributed about 41 billion VND, domestic visitors about 661 billion VND.
The occupancy rate of accommodation in the whole province is estimated at over 62%. In particular, Sa Pa National Tourism Area has a capacity of about 98% in the 3-star segment and above; the mid-range segment is about 82%, while homestay establishments reach about 85%.
