On June 11, Hue City Department of Tourism said that Hue has just been nominated for the category "Asia's Leading Culture City Destination 2026" at the World Travel Awards (WTA) Asia and Oceania region.
In the nomination list, Hue stands with many famous cultural cities such as Beijing, Kyoto, Seoul, Delhi and San Fernando, Pampanga (Philippines).
According to the tourism industry, continuing to be nominated at the WTA is an opportunity for Hue to promote its cultural image and heritage to international tourists. Previously, Hue was nominated in the same category in 2023 and 2024.
In addition, many accommodation establishments in Hue were also nominated for WTA 2026 categories such as Azerai La Residence Hue, Meliá Vinpearl Hue, Angsana Lang Co and Banyan Tree Lang Co.
The World Travel Awards is considered one of the leading prestigious awards in the world tourism industry. The online voting round lasts until August 7, 2026.
