According to a survey by Lao Dong at the end of March, many people have started planning for the 2026 summer vacation with the trend of booking tours early to be more proactive about costs and choose suitable destinations.
Ms. Nguyen Ha Hong Mai (Hanoi) said that her family plans to go on domestic sea tourism in June.
This year, my family decided to choose Da Nang because this destination is suitable for both young children and the elderly, with many resorts, airy space and convenient services. I booked tours early to reserve hotel rooms and hunt for good airfare tickets, avoiding price increases close to the departure date," Ms. Mai shared.
Similarly, Mr. Tran Van Hung (Hanoi) has also planned a short overseas trip with friends. According to Mr. Hung, booking services early helps him have more choices about schedules and suitable flight times.
“We choose flexible tours, we can adjust the itinerary if needed. Booking early also helps save significant costs compared to booking near the date,” Mr. Hung said.
Not only families, groups of young people also tend to actively plan early to avoid "tour outage", especially during peak seasons.
Mr. Bui Thanh Tu - Marketing Director of BestPrice Travel Company - said that in general, the summer tourism picture this year is still quite vibrant, but tourists tend to consider destinations and costs more carefully.
This year, customers tend to prioritize safe routes, short flight distances or familiar destinations. The number of customers looking for and booking tours has started to increase quite early, especially with sea destinations and short-day international tours," said Mr. Bui Thanh Tu.
According to Mr. Tu, for domestic tourism, sea destinations such as Phu Quoc, Nha Trang, Da Nang, Quy Nhon, Phu Yen or Ha Long are still the top choice in the summer because they are suitable for the resort needs of families.
In the international market, Vietnamese tourists still prioritize nearby destinations such as China, Singapore, Malaysia, South Korea, Japan and Thailand. These markets have advantages in short flight distances, convenient routes and reasonable costs," Mr. Tu said.
To avoid overload during summer travel, experts recommend that tourists should plan and book services early to have more choices of routes, air tickets and hotels at reasonable prices. At the same time, it is necessary to monitor information about destinations, aviation situation and tourism policies to make appropriate decisions.
Choosing a time to deviate from peak hours or explore new destinations also helps avoid overload. More importantly, tourists should prioritize reputable travel businesses to be fully consulted on itinerary, costs and support plans when changes arise," the expert emphasized.
