Book early travel for the end of the year
The end of the year is the time when travel demand increases when many families, groups of friends and businesses plan to relax and meet. To be proactive in their schedules and control costs, some tourists have started looking for and booking services early.
Ms. Nguyen Ha Linh (Thai Nguyen) said that her family is planning a long trip by plane with about 5 - 8 people at the end of the year. According to her, early preparation helps the family have more choices in terms of time, accommodation and especially hunting for a suitable price.
My family travels in large numbers, so just a slight increase in ticket prices or rooms can make the total cost quite different. Therefore, I want to book early to be proactive and can hunt for more vouchers and offers," Ms. Linh shared.
Similarly, Hoang Ngoc Linh (Lang Son) said that at present she has started to learn about destinations and costs for the year-end trip.
I prepared early to have time to compare ticket prices, rooms and service packages. If waiting close to the date to book, there may be fewer choices, especially on peak days," said Hoang Ngoc Linh.
Outstanding travel trends at the end of 2026
Mr. Bui Thanh Tu - Marketing Director of BestPrice Travel Company - said that the prominent trend at the end of the year is short trips but designed with more experience.
''Groups of individual customers and families mainly choose 3-day 2-night or 4-day 3-night tours; business customers often combine resorts with conferences, gala dinners or team-connecting activities,'' said a travel expert.
According to Mr. Bui Thanh Tu, tourists do not necessarily have to extend their trips, but are willing to spend more on good hotels, local cuisine, health care, entertainment and private experiences.
''Through the demand for booking services, we see that the average spending for tourism at the end of 2026 may increase by about 5 - 10% compared to the previous year,'' said Mr. Bui Thanh Tu.
Another change is that customers book services closer to the departure date, commonly about 2-4 weeks in advance. Therefore, products with flexible schedules, clear package prices and convenient exchange and cancellation policies are having a great advantage.
''In the North, Hanoi, Ninh Binh, Ha Long, Sa Pa, Ha Giang and Moc Chau will continue to be attractive thanks to the autumn-winter scenery and the ability to organize short trips. In the Central region, there are Da Nang, Hue, Hoi An, Quy Nhon; while Phu Quoc, Nha Trang, Da Lat, Ho Chi Minh City and the Mekong Delta provinces are suitable for resort needs, cold avoidance and year-end tourism'', a travel expert said.
