The number of visitors flocking to Da Nang city increased sharply, causing many hotels and resorts along the coast and along both banks of the Han River to quickly be fully booked.
The opening night of the festival (June 30) took place right on the weekend and the time when students started their summer vacation, so the tourist attraction increased. During the two days of the event, the number of visitors to Da Nang increased significantly compared to the same period last year.
Previously, on May 29, Da Nang International Airport welcomed 162 domestic and international flights, an increase of 14% compared to the opening ceremony of the previous year's festival. Including 60 international flights and 102 domestic flights. On May 30, the airport continued to welcome 161 more flights, showing that the demand for tourism to the coastal city is very high.
According to the Da Nang City Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the number of visitors served by accommodation establishments on May 30 is estimated at about 91,700, an increase of 17.5% compared to the opening night of the previous year. Of which, international visitors are estimated at 39,300, an increase of 16.6%.
The average room occupancy rate in the whole city reached about 65%. The hotel and resort blocks from 4 to 5 stars and equivalents alone reached about 75%. Notably, accommodation establishments along the coast and along the Han River reached a capacity of about 95%, many hotels with good locations had run out of rooms many days before the opening.
Faced with a sharp increase in the number of guests, accommodation businesses proactively upgraded facilities, added human resources and enhanced service quality. Many hotels recruited more seasonal workers, cooperating with tourism training institutions to meet service needs during the peak season.
The heat of the festival is also reflected in the number of tickets sold. According to the Organizing Committee, more than 95% of tickets in the stand area have been pre-ordered. In addition, 23 tourist boats eligible to operate on the Han River are serving tourists to watch fireworks with a total capacity of more than 2,500 seats. As of May 29, the number of fireworks tickets on the boat has reached about half of its capacity.
The opening night of the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival 2026 will be a competition between the host Da Nang team and the fireworks team from China, promising to kick off the vibrant festival season of the coastal city.
