On April 5, while patrolling the Ma Pi Leng Pass area (Meo Vac, Ha Giang), Working Group No. 10 of the Traffic Police Department, Ha Giang Provincial Police picked up a black wallet.
The wallet's owner was identified as Guoda Žukienė, a Lithuanian national. Inside the wallet were 560 Euros in cash (about 16 million VND), ID cards, driver's licenses and three bank cards.

Due to the crowded tourist area and the peak festival season, the working group quickly reviewed information, contacted homestays and tour groups in Ha Giang but had no results for the two days.
"This tourist travels alone, not on a tour, not staying at a fixed location, so verification is very difficult," said Captain Luc Cao Hiep, Head of Working Group No. 10 - answering Lao Dong.
The turning point came when the working group received support from Mr. Nguyen Thuat, an administrative member of a Facebook group on Ha Giang tourism.
Thanks to the network of tour groups in Hanoi, the owner of the wallet - a female foreign tourist - received the information.

At that time, the tourist was in Ninh Binh. After receiving the news, she and her husband returned to Ha Giang.
On April 9, all assets were handed over to tourists.
"As soon as we picked up the wallet, we have been hoping and determined to find a way to return it to the owner by all means. This is the responsibility of the People's Public Security soldier," said Captain Hiep.
He said that the working group had repeatedly supported tourists to receive their luggage or lost items, but this was one of the most difficult cases because there was no communication unit.
"The tourist couple was very moved when receiving their property back. They said they will return to Vietnam in the near future, because they feel safe here and put their trust in the police, Mr. Hiep shared.

"It is very important to keep the police force in the eyes of international visitors.
The tourism community highly appreciates the fact that the people and the police force of Ha Giang are trying to find the owner of the wallet lost, contributing to spreading positive values to the community, building the image of Vietnam is a safe, friendly destination in the eyes of international friends.
