Da Nang - Many domestic and foreign tourists are willing to experience Hoi An ancient town during the flood season instead of changing their schedules and destinations.

According to Lao Dong, floods lasting from late October to mid-November 2025 caused heavy flooding in Hoi An ancient town. However, on the old streets, there are still many tourist groups coming to visit and experience.

Mr. Nguyen Van Minh - a tour guide - said that although many streets in Hoi An are flooded, the tour schedule remains unchanged. Most foreign tourists also sympathize and consider this a memorable memory when coming to Hoi An.

"We always announce and have the consent of visitors for any changes in tour schedules, in the spirit of ensuring safety is paramount. This morning I took a group of European tourists to visit ancient houses, wade through floodwaters, and drink coffee to see the Hoai River. They really like it" - Mr. Minh said.

Similarly, Ms. Tran Thi Ngan (a restaurant owner in Hoi An) - said that foreign tourists, especially Europe and the Americas, love experiential travel. In recent days, many tourists have immersed themselves in the lives of the people of the ancient town during the flood season.

To ensure the safety of tourists, at deeply flooded areas, local authorities prohibit rowing boats carrying tourists on the river, place barriers and warning signs.

Speaking with Lao Dong, Mr. Vo Dang Phong - Vice Chairman of Hoi An Ward People's Committee (Da Nang City) - informed that in recent days, the Ward People's Committee has requested the police force and units at the grassroots level to be on duty at flooded locations and promptly handle arising situations.

The local government has dismantled tourist boats and boats to pick up and drop off guests to the wharf in compliance with regulations on stopping operations as required by the city.

Hoi An Ward People's Committee completely prohibits experiential boat rowing and boat rowing on the river during flood times.

At points where travel needs arise, the authorities will guide and create conditions for businesses or businesses to proactively pick up and drop off visitors from flooded areas to safe areas.

In case people need to access flooded areas, the authorities will also create conditions if safety is ensured, and always control to avoid risks.
