The story of Vietnamese tourists helping strangers when traveling to China has received great attention in the media of the neighboring country.

The story of a Vietnamese male tourist volunteering to carry an unknown female tourist to the emergency room quickly attracted the attention of the online community. This story later appeared in the Japanese newspaper Guizhou (China).

Specifically, on February 18, Mr. Pham Trung Hieu (37 years old, director of a travel company in Ha Long, Quang Ninh) went to Guizhou City, Guizhou Province at the invitation of a partner company in China. The delegation surveyed the new location to increase the attraction of Vietnamese visitors.

On February 20, while the whole group visited the Thanh Nham ancient citadel wall (Quy Chau province), on the way down the slope of this place, Mr. Hieu saw a girl with a stomachache and kept calling for help, while the girlfriend accompanying her seemed quite confused.

The image of a male tourist carrying a stranger through a long journey in cold weather was widely shared in the media in China. Screenshot

Mr. Hieu stopped to visit, but this person was in too much pain and spoke in a broken voice. Seeing the situation as too urgent and fearing that this person could have excess intestinal inflammation, he decided to carry the girl out of the sightseeing area to find a taxi and take her to the emergency room.

Mr. Hieu said: "The distance from the sightseeing area to the gate of the tourist destination is only over 1km. While I was carrying that girl, there were also other friends in my group who helped me contact to find a taxi as well as informed the tourist area's management board to support the girl's condition in a timely manner. With only 1/4 of the distance left, I was quite tired, so my Chinese partner and I helped take that girl to the taxi."

Although the distance is not long, there are thousands of stone steps in the ancient town, Mr. Hieu was quite exhausted when he had to climb continuously. He had to stop 4 times and spent about 30 minutes to get through the steep slope. The weather was around 5 degrees Celsius at the time, but his brother was also sweating.

Returning to the hotel, he was contacted and interviewed by a Chinese reporter about the story. In addition, he was also updated about the female tourist's condition as being completely stable as well as received thanks from her.

"For me, this is a beautiful memory in Guizhou when I visited for the second time, but I did not expect that my small act would be praised so much. I am really quite shy to receive such great attention," he frankly expressed.
