Tourism - a pillar of growth in the new development strategy
On December 19, the Workshop "Khanh Hoa Tourism - Growth points to promote economic pillars" was organized by Tien Phong Newspaper in coordination with Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee.
According to Mr. Cung Quynh Anh - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture - Sports and Tourism of Khanh Hoa province, the Politburo has identified Khanh Hoa as one of the three development drivers of the country according to Resolution No. 09-NQ/TW.

In particular, tourism is oriented as a spearhead economic sector, building Khanh Hoa into an international center for sea tourism and services, playing a new growth potential role of the province in the period of 2025 - 2030, with a vision to 2045.
The target by 2030 is that the whole province strives to welcome about 31.6 million visitors, including 10.5 million international visitors.
Mr. Nguyen Long Bien - Permanent Vice Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee emphasized that the new locality has a strategic geopolitical location, fully converging all types of transport infrastructure including road, railway, aviation and waterway, seamlessly connecting along the North - South and East - West axes.

This is an important foundation for the province to strongly develop the marine economy and tourism at a higher level.
According to Mr. Nguyen Long Bien, besides the potential, Khanh Hoa tourism still faces many challenges such as overlapping products, unsynchronized international promotion, limited human resources, environmental pressure and increasingly fierce competition.
Therefore, diversifying tourism products is identified as an inevitable requirement and a long-term strategic orientation.
On that basis, the province is oriented to develop tourism according to four pillars.
These are seas, islands, culture, ecology and smart cities; at the same time, deploy groups of solutions on product diversification, markets, investment models, digital transformation, perfecting planning - infrastructure, developing human resources, promoting and linking regions, towards sustainable development.
Aspiration for a regional and international tourism center
Assessing the development prospects, Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Trung Luong - a member of the National Planning Consulting Group of Experts said that according to the criteria of urban development level, infrastructure, tourism technical facilities, destination density and the ability to create a spillover effect, identifying Khanh Hoa as a tourism center is completely feasible.

In addition to sea tourism, the locality also has great potential for cultural tourism, especially the Cham cultural space with a typical Cham tower system such as Ba Ponagar tower, Po Klong Garai tower and many unique intangible cultural values.
However, the process of realizing this goal still has limitations such as unsynchronized infrastructure and tourism services, weak inter-regional connectivity capacity, the role of " Atony", "Leading" of Khanh Hoa as a "destination - Destination" at the regional level...
From a policy perspective, Mr. Ta Van Ha - Vice Chairman of the National Assembly's Committee on Culture and Society said that Khanh Hoa needs to proactively propose pilot models, from managing bay space, developing high-end resorts to specialized tourism services.
The province needs to focus on developing the three strategic areas of Nha Trang - Cam Ranh - Van Phong, taking advantage of the advantages of infrastructure, island resources and international brands, aiming to build Khanh Hoa into an international center for sea and island tourism.
Along with that is the development of training centers, providing high-quality tourism human resources, playing a pioneering role in promoting tourism growth in the South Central region and the whole country...
