On March 4, Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee announced that it had a plan to implement the Tourism Development Strategy for the period 2026 - 2030, with orientation to 2045, with the goal of making tourism a key economic sector, gradually affirming its position on the regional and international tourism map.
According to the plan, by 2030, Khanh Hoa aims to become an international-standard sea tourism and service center.
The locality sets a goal to maximize potential and advantages, taking the marine economy as the foundation, tourism as a key economic sector; striving to be in the group of 5 leading provinces and cities in the country in tourism development.
At the same time, gradually consolidate its position as a typical destination in Southeast Asia, build an easily recognizable tourism brand, and form a synchronous and closed tourism ecosystem.
Regarding specific targets, by 2030, total revenue from tourists in Khanh Hoa is expected to reach 9 billion USD; the contribution of the service and tourism industries to GRDP will reach about 20%.
The number of overnight visitors is estimated at 33 million, of which international visitors account for 40-45%. Average length of stay reaches 4-5 days per visitor; average spending increases from 1.5 - 2 times compared to 2025.
The whole province is expected to have about 100,000 tourist accommodation rooms, of which about 75% of rooms meet 3-5 star standards. The tourism industry creates jobs for more than 300,000 direct and indirect workers.
Orienting to 2045, Khanh Hoa tourism is globally recognized as one of the leading sea tourism destinations in Asia.
The province will focus on developing high value-added products and services, thereby increasing the proportion of the service sector in the economic structure.
Tourism development targets for the period 2030 - 2045 will continue to be calculated and updated based on forecast models, practical data and implementation results in the period 2026 - 2030, in order to ensure maintaining the double-digit growth rate of the tourism industry.
