With the theme "Tet is happiness", the program takes place from February 6 to 10, 2026 (ie December 19-23 of the year At Ty) at the Central Area of Thang Long Imperial Citadel, bringing a space to experience traditional Tet on an area of more than 7,000 m2.
The Spring Market, Tet Flavor, Spring Festival, and Digital Age Tet areas have been basically completed, vividly recreating the atmosphere of old Hanoi Tet and Tet in regions, combining cultural, culinary, craft village and technology experiences.
Tonight, the opening ceremony is expected to take place at 7 pm with an art program, solemn rituals and a journey to visit the Vietnamese Tet space.
Besides the main spaces that have been shaped, the highlight of Happy Tet 2026 lies in the diverse experience system, taking place throughout 5 days. Typical examples include "Touching Identity" with the "Vietnamese Kitchen Opens Spring" performance, experiencing wrapping banh chung, making Tet jam, pounding sausage; "Ask for words at the beginning of the year" activity; workshop "Nếp nhà ngày Tết" with contents of carving water lilies, enjoying Tet tea; "Vị Tết Vân Đình" program and Kite exhibition space.
Visitors can directly participate in wrapping banh chung, banh te, making Tet jam, pounding gio, learning about the spring feast, asking for calligraphy at the beginning of the year and enjoying tea in the space of the old Tet house.
Many regional culinary activities are also organized, bringing the opportunity to enjoy the Tet flavors of the North, Central and South in the same journey.
The craft village space opens up handicraft experiences with the participation of Bat Trang pottery artisans, Ha Thai lacquer, Phu Vinh bamboo and rattan, Thuy Ung horn combs, and Xuan La to he, helping visitors to witness and try their hand at traditional crafting steps. At the same time, creative workshops at the Art-tist Tet area allow participants to make Tet decorations in a contemporary style themselves.
Highlights in the new experiences are digital technology applied to tell heritage stories through digital check-in, VR 360 virtual reality experience, exploring Tet and Hanoi with AI, Digital memory box with multi-touch interactive screen. Lucky money 4.0, picking lucky items and Happy Tet 2026 Passport activities create a continuous journey of discovery, increasing connectivity and preserving memories for tourists.
In particular, within the framework of the program, there is also the Neu erecting ceremony recreated right at Thang Long Imperial Citadel, contributing to spreading traditional cultural values in the heritage space. The activity is coordinated by the Department of Tourism with the Thang Long - Hanoi Heritage Conservation Center.
Before opening, the booths are still busy completing the layout, product arrangement and experience space. The Tet market atmosphere has gradually spread, ready to welcome people and tourists right on the opening night. In particular, the 200 earliest attendees on the opening night will receive small potted plants as a spring greeting.
