The cold air mass is moving southward, causing thunderstorms in many areas of the Northern region and making the weather cool.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, in the afternoon of September 9, the cold air mass continued to move southward. In the past 24 hours, the North has had showers and thunderstorms in some places, the temperature at 1 pm was commonly 31-34 degrees C.

Forecast near morning and morning of September 10, cold air will affect the mountainous areas of the Northeast region, then affect other places in the Northeast region, North Central region and some places in the Northwest region.

On land, wind turns Northeast level 2-3, coastal area level 3. From September 10, the Northeast and North Central regions will turn cool.

During this cold air wave, the lowest temperature in the North and North Central regions is commonly 21-24 degrees C, in the high mountainous areas of the North, some places below 19 degrees C. From the evening and night of September 9 to the night of September 10, the Northern region will have scattered showers and thunderstorms, with locally heavy rain. From September 10-11, the area from Thanh Hoa to Hue City will have moderate to heavy rain and scattered thunderstorms, with locally very heavy rain.

In thunderstorms, people need to be wary of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind. These phenomena can affect agricultural production, causing trees to fall, damage to houses, traffic works and infrastructure.

From the night of September 10, the Gulf of Tonkin and the northern sea area of the Northern East Sea will have strong Northeast winds of level 6, gusts of level 7-8; waves 2.0-3.0m high, rough seas.

Strong winds, gusts of wind and large waves are likely to affect the operation of ships and other activities at sea.

People and tourists going out should bring umbrellas and raincoats. Avoid moving and operating outdoors when it rains heavily to prevent strong winds and thunderstorms that are dangerous.
