On April 12, Vung Tau Ward Police (HCMC) issued a warning, requesting people and tourists to raise awareness of self-protection of property when playing and swimming in the locality.
Over the past time, forces in Vung Tau have always strengthened patrols, inspections, and crime prevention and control to ensure security and order, and maintain the image of a safe and civilized tourist destination.
However, besides the involvement of functional agencies, the awareness of self-protection of property of each citizen and tourist is also an important factor in preventing crime.
Through actual situation grasp, Vung Tau Ward Police have recorded that, besides beautiful and civilized images, there is still a situation where some people and tourists are subjective and negligent in looking after and preserving property, especially for motorbikes and motorbikes when swimming or visiting public areas.
In many cases, people and tourists park motorbikes on roads, sidewalks, parks, and beaches without sending them to parking lots with guards. Then they leave for a long time to swim, take photos, and have fun. In some cases, they also leave valuable assets in the trunk such as phones, money, personal papers... and even forget their keys on the motorbike.
These loopholes and subjectivity have created favorable conditions for bad actors to take advantage of or have the intention to commit crimes and commit property theft. Some cases of car theft and property loss have occurred, causing economic damage and affecting the psychology and experience of people and tourists when coming to Vung Tau.
Therefore, to prevent and minimize the situation of property theft, Vung Tau Ward Police recommends that people and tourists strictly implement the following contents such as: do not park motorbikes in areas without guards, prioritize parking at licensed parking lots with clear managers; do not leave valuable assets in the trunk such as money, phones, important papers; always lock the handlebars and handlebars of the car carefully, especially for high-value vehicles, use anti-theft locks, disc locks, GPS devices..., and absolutely do not forget the keys on the car, even when leaving for a short time.
When detecting subjects with suspicious signs, lingering in the parking area, promptly notify the Police force or the nearest security force for inspection and handling.
