On April 16, the beach rescue force in Vung Tau area (Ho Chi Minh City) promptly rescued 2 tourists who drowned while swimming in the Bai Sau area, Vung Tau ward.
According to initial information, at about 6:45 am on April 16, while swimming in the sea, Mr. N.H. L (53 years old, tourist from Dong Nai) and his wife, Ms. N.T. D (49 years old), accidentally encountered a current, and both were swept away by the water. Discovering the incident, beach rescue forces on duty quickly rushed into the sea to deploy rescue.
After approaching the victim, rescuers reassured and helped the victim ashore safely in a state of exhaustion, with signs of suffocation. Rescue forces continued to give first aid, provide respiratory support and monitor the tourist's health. Thanks to being detected and supported in time, the health of both tourists has gradually recovered and is no longer life-threatening.
According to beach rescue forces, recently, the Bai Sau sea area often has whirlpools and offshore currents that are potentially dangerous for swimmers, as well as many jellyfish and sea worms that can affect the experiences and entertainment of people and tourists on the beach.
Therefore, beachgoers need to follow the instructions of the rescue force, do not swim too far, do not swim in areas with dangerous warnings... as well as carefully observe the surrounding environment when going into the water. When exposed by jellyfish or marine creatures, or having unusual sensations, it is necessary to quickly go ashore and report to the coastal rescue force for quick support and timely handling.
