In recent days, beaches in the Vung Tau area (HCMC) have seen many worms and jellyfish, affecting the experiences of people and tourists when coming to play at the beach.
According to Lao Dong's records, sea worms appear a lot and stretch across the entire Bai Sau beach area, they float in water or lie close to the sand surface. Meanwhile, sea jellyfish appear a lot in the area near Hon Ba, and get caught in the nets of fishermen catching mullet and pulling them ashore.

Some tourists, out of curiosity, approached sea worms while swimming, and even used buckets and basins to catch sea worms and release them to play with. Therefore, many cases are stung by sea worm thorns, creating a feeling of itching and burning pain.
I have been pricked by deep sea spines for more than a week, but the pricked area still has red marks, occasionally itching and burning, creating an uncomfortable feeling," said Mr. L.A.
Many experienced people and tourists will stay away from these types, or due to concern about the "thorn" shape of these species, they limit access when swimming in the sea; or choose areas with less deep sea to swim in.

According to the Vung Tau Ward Public Service Supply Center, the phenomenon of jellyfish and sea worms appearing has been recorded in recent days. This situation usually appears annually in cycles, and then these species will disappear on their own.
Jellyfish and sea worms are both mildly toxic, capable of causing skin irritation, so swimmers need to limit contact. In particular, fire jellyfish with long tentacles carrying strong venom can cause severe pain and burning when exposed.

Tourists swimming in the sea in Vung Tau who feel hot, itchy... may have been stung by worms or jellyfish. At this time, they need to quickly go ashore, wash the irritated skin area and quickly go to rescue stations, or contact rescue forces for support and treatment. Medical staff will give first aid or apply special medicine, and if necessary, if severe allergic symptoms appear, they will be taken to medical facilities for treatment.
