On September 9, information from the Organizing Committee of the Ngu Chi Son Mountain Climbing Tournament, the unit has just organized a field survey of the road from Ngu Chi Son village to the top of Ngu Chi Son mountain, focusing on reviewing dangerous locations to develop plans to ensure safety for athletes.
Participating in the survey delegation were representatives of the Mass Sports Department, Lao Cai Provincial Culture, Arts and Sports Center; leaders of the Department of Culture - Society; Ngu Chi Son Commune General Service Center, along with the Police, Forest Rangers, Commune Health Station and related units.
The route to conquer Ngu Chi Son peak is about 7 km long, bringing athletes to an altitude of 2,585 m above sea level. The terrain has a large slope, many winding and dangerous sections, requiring participants to have endurance and adaptability to high mountain conditions.
During the survey, the delegation directly inspected each section of the route, focusing on curves, steep passes, difficult, slippery and unsafe locations.
Based on the actual terrain, the Organizing Committee reviews the plan to arrange support forces, warnings, traffic diversion and handle arising situations, thereby limiting risks in the process of athletes conquering the route.

The first Ngu Chi Son mountain climbing race is expected to take place in 2 days, October 9-10, 2026. This is a sports activity to test the endurance, will and ability to conquer terrain of athletes.
Besides the sports element, the tournament is also an opportunity to introduce the mountain scenery, natural beauty and cultural identity of ethnic groups in Ngu Chi Son, contributing to promoting the tourism potential of the locality.
With a 7 km long route and the finishing point at an altitude of 2,585 m, the Ngu Chi Son mountain climbing tournament is expected to create more products combining sports with tourism, attracting athletes and tourists to experience the Lao Cai highlands.
