In 2025, the capital's tourism industry will continue to grow strongly, achieving many positive results.
According to data from the Hanoi Department of Tourism, the city is estimated to welcome and serve over 33.7 million visitors, an increase of 20.87% compared to 2024, including over 7.82 million international tourists, an increase of 22.76% compared to 2024 (accounting for about 37% of the country).
The capital's tourism industry has officially exceeded the target of welcoming 31 million visitors, and set a new record for welcoming the highest number of visitors in history - surpassing the 29 million pre-pandemic golden age mark in 2019.
Total revenue from tourists in 2025 is estimated at over 134.46 trillion VND, an increase of 21.5% compared to 2024.

Commenting on the results of the capital's tourism industry at "Currently realizing solutions to increase the attraction of international tourists to Hanoi" on February 17, Mr. Ha Van Sieu - Deputy Director of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism highly appreciated Hanoi's efforts, with a particularly important role in the national tourism structure, both as a cultural and political center and a gateway to welcome international visitors in the Northern region.
Hanoi attracts tourists with its cultural depth, unique urban space and rare East-West intersection. However, to increase competitiveness, Hanoi needs to continue to focus on developing outstanding products, promoting regional linkages and promoting digital transformation in tourism promotion, management and business, said Mr. Ha Van Sieu.
The leader of the National Administration of Tourism suggested that the capital's tourism industry needs to do better, soon reach the milestone of welcoming 10 million international visitors in a year and closely connect with prominent satellite destinations such as Ha Long, Ninh Binh, Lao Cai.
According to him, Hanoi must promote the identity of the Capital - a place of convergence of the quintessence of the whole country, bring tourism products deep into quality, increase cultural content... and design products corresponding to each market to suit, especially paying attention to the high-spending segment.

Mr. Tran Trung Hieu - Deputy Director of Hanoi Department of Tourism said that the capital's tourism industry strives to attract over 35.8 million visitors in 2026, an increase of 6.2% compared to the estimate in 2025 with over 8.6 million international tourists (including 6.1 million overnight visitors), an increase of 10% compared to the estimate in 2025.
To realize this goal, the Capital Tourism industry will focus on action pillars including improving growth quality, developing in-depth, unique products, promoting digital transformation, enhancing regional linkages and promoting aviation cooperation.
Currently, realizing solutions to attract international visitors does not lie in the slogan, but in the close coordination between the State, businesses, aviation and the community, with the criteria of clear people, clear work, clear products and clear efficiency, Mr. Tran Trung Hieu emphasized.

The capital's tourism industry will promote the diversification of products, especially night tourism products, health care tourism, agricultural and rural tourism and specific products of each locality in the area such as: eco-tourism, resorts, culinary tourism... to ensure quality, professional and sustainable services; forming tourism alliances, applying technology to develop tourism products based on different potentials, outstanding opportunities, national competitive advantages associated with promoting heritage values and national cultural identity.
