The 2025 Red River Festival has the theme "Where the Red River flows into Vietnam", taking place for 7 days (from November 18 to 24, 2025), focusing on Lao Cai ward, Cam Duong ward and some communes and wards.
The event is chaired by Lao Cai province, with the participation of provinces and cities in the Red River basin and the Red Sea (Yunan province, China).
The opening ceremony is scheduled to be held at 8:00 p.m. on November 19, 2025 at Cam Duong Ward Square, broadcast live on VTV and rebroadcast in provinces and cities in the Red River region.
The program includes ceremonies, opening speeches, art performances and low-altitude fireworks.
Within the framework of the Festival, there will be many attractive cultural, sports and tourism activities such as: experiencing ethnic cultural spaces, displaying culture and tourism of provinces and cities in the Red River basin; performing folk cultural rituals, performing Lao Cai ethnic art; exchanging sports for Vietnamese and Chinese entrepreneurs and young people; recreating "Ancient Coc Leu Market"; 25th Vietnam - China International Trade Fair (Lao Cai).
In addition, there are activities in response: "Red River Festival" Golf Tournament; "One track - Two countries" Hong Ha (China) - Lao Cai (Vietnam) and Lao Cai snow tea festival 2025 with the theme "Scent of tea on the clouds", promising to create a unique tourist highlight during the year-end festival season.
The 2025 Red River Festival is not only an opportunity to promote the image of "upstream river - mountain peak" of Lao Cai but also contributes to strengthening the solidarity and friendship between Vietnam and China.
