On the evening of November 28, Long An province officially opened the 2nd Long An Province Culture - Sports - Tourism Week in 2024 with the theme "Aspiration for the Vam River". Attending the event were former President Truong Tan Sang, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Vietnam to Korea Vu Ho, Consul General of Korea in Ho Chi Minh City Shin Choong Il, leaders of Long An province, leaders of localities in the Mekong Delta region and many people in the province.
In his opening speech, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Long An Province - Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc - said: Long An has an important strategic position in trade, economic development and tourism; the intersection between the Southeast region and the Mekong Delta region, bordering Ho Chi Minh City, located on the national tourism route and urban chain: Ho Chi Minh City - Can Tho; connecting with the Kingdom of Cambodia and Long An International Seaport.
According to Mr. Duoc, in recent times, Long An tourism industry has made a change, building typical tourism products such as "Vam Co River on the ecological landscape of Dong Thap Muoi and entertainment services", attracting more and more visitors, contributing greatly to the economic growth of the province.
The 2024 Culture - Sports - Tourism Week event, solemnly held from November 28 to December 4, is a testament to the government's determination and commitment to promoting its role as a creator and creating favorable conditions for cultural and tourism businesses to develop in the spirit of "harmonized benefits, shared risks", harmonizing interests between the State, businesses and people.
At the same time, this event, marking the continuous development efforts of Long An tourism industry, is the result of promoting the success of the Culture - Tourism Week held for the first time in 2022.
