With the theme "Hanoi connects five continents", the Hanoi Food Culture Festival 2024 will take place from November 29, 2024 to December 1, 2024, with the participation of many agencies and units in the city and invited provinces and cities such as: Embassies of countries in Vietnam, diplomatic agencies of countries headquartered in Hanoi, Hanoi Union of Friendship Organizations, Vietnam Culinary Culture Association, Vietnam Chefs Association...
Speaking at the press conference introducing the Festival, Mr. Do Dinh Hong - Director of Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports said: "The Festival is an event to honor, preserve and promote the traditional cultural and culinary values of the capital Hanoi, building and effectively exploiting the cultural and culinary brand.
At the same time, the festival contributes to introducing and promoting the image of Hanoi as a tourist destination, culture, and Hanoi cuisine as a delicate heritage, formed in the flow of Vietnamese culture, attracting domestic and international audiences.
In addition, the festival is also an opportunity for Hanoi and embassies of countries, localities, organizations and individuals to meet, exchange, display and promote products, discuss, sign business cooperation agreements, and strengthen solidarity and friendship between the Vietnamese people in general and Hanoi in particular with international friends.
The opening ceremony of the Hanoi Food Culture Festival 2024 is scheduled to take place at 7:00 p.m. on November 29, 2024 at Thong Nhat Park (Hanoi). The festival will take place over 3 days (from November 29 to December 1), with more than 80 participating booths.
In particular, within the framework of the Hanoi Food Culture Festival 2024, there is a program called “Pho so Ha Thanh” to honor Hanoi’s traditional pho. Here, people will be introduced to “pho so” with a completely different perspective on the application of technology and digital transformation in the Vietnamese culinary industry.
“Pho Digital” with smart robots prepares each bowl of Pho precisely, from the stage of cooking the broth to serving it on the table. Smart robots will replace humans in production and service work, creating a “Pho” culinary experience that can be introduced to more regions and areas.
Sharing about this special product, Mr. Do Dinh Hong affirmed that robots can only replace humans in certain stages. Therefore, “pho so” is just a step forward in applying digital technology, not affecting the heritage of traditional Vietnamese pho.
A representative of the company in charge of the “pho so” project added that visitors will have to queue up to be served by the robot. The price of a bowl of “pho so” will be equivalent to a bowl of regular pho.
In addition, the 2024 Culinary Culture Festival also offers many experiential activities, attracting visitors to learn about the cultural and culinary beauty of Hanoi in particular and the diversity and richness of international cuisine in general.
The festival is divided into 3 areas introducing culinary spaces including: international culinary area, area introducing typical culinary cultural spaces of traditional craft villages and performances by artisans and area introducing products and enjoying cuisine with experiential activities.
In addition, visitors can also participate in seminars introducing, promoting, and demonstrating traditional cuisine and heritage, photo exhibition areas, miniature landscapes, folk game areas, art performances, etc.
The festival promises to attract a large number of people and tourists this weekend.
