Kazakhstan is one of the top countries to visit in 2025, attracting visitors with its rich history, diverse landscapes and unique cultural heritage.
“Kazakhstan’s inclusion in the Best Countries to Travel to 2025 ranking by such a prestigious magazine as Lonely Planet reflects the growing global interest in Kazakhstan tourism. As we continue to promote the country’s unique culture and diverse nature internationally, we remain committed to the principles of sustainable tourism,” said Yerzhan Erkinbayev, Deputy Minister of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Kazakhstan, which made the prestigious list, is described as a place where ancient traditions and modernity meet. Popular experiences include exploring Sairam-Ugam National Park and Altyn-Emel National Park; sampling the cuisine in the city of Shymkent; or visiting Almaty, Kazakhstan’s former capital, to soak up its Soviet heritage.
Lonely Planet describes Kazakhstan as not just a destination to visit, but a whole world to explore, a journey worth taking and a story that every traveler will become a part of.

In 2023, Vietnamese Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung signed a Memorandum of Understanding on tourism cooperation with Kazakhstan's Minister of Culture and Sports Askhat Oralov.
Tourism is a field with great potential for cooperation between Vietnam and Kazakhstan. The average number of tourists from Kazakhstan to Vietnam is about 10,000 per year and tends to continue to increase, especially since the direct flight between the two countries.
The Government of Vietnam and the Government of Kazakhstan have signed an agreement on visa exemption for ordinary passport holders. Accordingly, Vietnamese and Kazakhstani citizens are exempted from visas for entry, exit, transit, and temporary residence in the two countries for a period not exceeding 30 days (previously, Kazakhstan unilaterally exempted visas for Vietnamese tourists from September 2019). This opens up opportunities to promote tourism cooperation between the two countries.
