During the Hung Kings Commemoration Festival and the April 30 - May 1 holiday of this year, the tourism industry of Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) has achieved many positive signs. Statistics from the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism show that in 9 days (April 25 to May 3), international visitors to HCMC are estimated at 19,000; domestic visitors are estimated at 1.5 million. Total tourism revenue this time is estimated at 8,700 billion VND - nearly 9,000 billion VND.

New product series and regional linkages strongly attract customers

This result comes from many resonance factors, in which long holidays play a role in stimulating tourism demand throughout the region.

Ho Chi Minh City takes advantage of the linkage advantage, forming a diverse chain of destinations including urban - sea - ecological - cultural, thereby, the number of visitors increases sharply, especially domestic visitors.

Along with that is the synchronous coordination between the tourism industry, local authorities, and businesses in preparation and service organization.

Right from the beginning of April 2026, the city's tourism industry has implemented stimulus activities, announcing nearly 1,000 new tourism products and services.

Many programs and events such as the Vietnamese Banh Mi Festival, fireworks displays... contribute to creating a vibrant atmosphere and increasing the experience for tourists.

At the same time, stimulus packages with preferential rates up to 41%, priced from 599,000 VND, have contributed to promoting tourism demand.

Service is well controlled, enhancing the tourist experience

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism assessed that thanks to the large-scale accommodation system, abundant supply and early preparation, the market ensures service capacity, and there is no room shortage.

Accommodation establishments proactively upgrade infrastructure, arrange suitable personnel, develop flexible service plans for each customer segment, and at the same time, implement reasonable price policies to limit sudden price increases.

In addition, the role of the community in tourism activities has initially been effective. Many models of community tourism and agricultural tourism in suburban communes have attracted attention, especially from family and young tourist groups.

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism assessed that this year's holiday recorded positive and synchronous changes throughout the area.

The city continues to show its role as both an attractive destination and a tourist transit center in the region.

It can be seen that the positive signal during this year's holiday creates a foundation for the city's tourism industry to enter the summer peak season with the expectation of maintaining growth momentum.
