On April 21, at the conference "Promoting green transformation, towards an ecological and smart city", Mr. Pham Xuan Thanh - Vice Chairman of Da Nang Tourism Association, Chairman of Da Nang Green Hotel Branch, gave a presentation "Building a green destination - From tourism strategy to driving force for comprehensive economic development".

Mr. Pham Xuan Thanh said that the Da Nang tourism business community has implemented many green transformation activities in the past time, and at the same time wishes to contribute a practical voice to the sustainable development process of the city.
According to Mr. Thanh, tourism is a highly linked industry, dependent on many fields such as transportation, culture, agriculture, industry... therefore, if these industries do not transform green synchronously, tourism will also find it difficult to develop sustainably.
However, with the advantage of early access to international markets with high green standards, tourism can become a driving force to promote Da Nang's green economy.

Mr. Thanh believes that green tourism needs to be closely linked to agriculture and culture to increase value. Accordingly, Da Nang after the merger owns a diverse ecosystem such as fields, seas and hills, which can be fully exploited into the tourism service chain.
For example, clean agricultural products and local specialties can be directly introduced into tourist meals according to the "from field to table" model, combined with organic farming and emission reduction.
This not only enhances the tourism experience but also creates stable output for agriculture, contributing to spreading local cultural values and increasing added value for the entire tourism industry.

Regarding long-term orientation, Mr. Thanh said that Da Nang needs to set a goal to become a "green destination" of international stature, through building a set of green criteria according to international standards, applying carbon emission measurement tools, developing in-depth tourism products and bringing the community to become the subject in the development process.
Mr. Thanh proposed that the city soon develop a green master plan (Green Master Plan), issue preferential policies for businesses to transition to green, support emission measurement tools and plan ecological agricultural areas to create a foundation for sustainable tourism development.
