It is not difficult for visitors to Da Lat City to see dogs sitting obediently and neatly waiting for their renters to take photos at Lam Vien Square every evening. This service was basically nothing worth condemning, until recently a video appeared on social networks of an Alaskan dog being mercilessly beaten by its owner.
Images of mistreatment of animals when taking them out to "earn food" by some people in this city are being posted more and more. At Linh Phuoc Pagoda (Ward 11), a Poodle dog had to stand for many hours on two legs to ask tourists for money.

After the animal abuse incident caused a stir in public opinion, the People's Committee of Da Lat City issued a document requesting the termination of pet photography services and handling cases of animal abuse as reported. However, the above incident has more or less affected the tourism image of the land of thousands of flowers.

"Da Lat City should ban this type of service a long time ago"; "In a tourist city, this has been going on for many years without being checked?"; "Need to condemn and stop"... are comments left by the online community under posts about animal violence in Da Lat.
Talking to Lao Dong, a representative of Take Action Vietnam, an animal rescue organization in Vietnam, said that immediately after watching the video of the dog being beaten in Da Lat, the group went to Da Lat to find out.
"What surprised us even more was that when we arrived in Da Lat, we received more information about dog abuse, so we decided to condemn those acts through our articles.
We do not support bringing animals into tourism or attracting tourists. Looking at it, you can see that the dogs are adorable, but few people know that behind those images are puppies being beaten to be trained for photography.
This will greatly affect tourism in Da Lat city if it continues, because everyone needs to boycott until this service is no longer available" - said a representative of Take Action Vietnam.
