Selective growth market
National Day holiday September 2026 lasts 5 consecutive days (August 29 - September 9) creating ideal conditions for people to plan for tourism and resorts.
Before this peak period, the market recorded a clear shift in consumer behavior and important recommendations to ensure safety for tourists. This year, tourists focused on the rationality of the itinerary, service quality and the value of the experience received.
Talking to Lao Dong Newspaper, Ms. Tran Thi Bao Thu - Marketing - Communications Director of Vietluxtour Travel Company said that the market prospects for September 2nd are very positive but will be more selective than a massive explosion. Purchasing power is expected to be maintained well in 4 segments including multi-generation family customers, small groups and custom-designed tours, corporate group customers combined with year-end conferences (MICE), autumn and festival experiences.
To make the trip complete and optimize costs, representatives of this business recommend that tourists should finalize their actual accommodation before paying for non-refundable/cancellable services; prioritize early reservation for air tours or routes requiring visa application; compare prices carefully based on the same service standard (hotel standards, meals, entrance tickets, tips, surcharges).
At the same time, families with elderly people or young children need to choose a schedule with a moderate pace and only conduct transactions through the official channels of travel companies.
Tighten spontaneous tours organized by KOL, KOC
In order to ensure service quality, the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism has just sent a document to the Departments of Tourism Management of provinces and cities directly under the Central Government, requesting good preparation for serving tourists on September 2nd and the last months of 2026.
In which, propagating and advising tourists about participating in travel insurance; choosing travel programs organized by travel service businesses. At the same time, there are forms of risk warnings when participating in spontaneous tours or travel programs promoted and organized by individuals, KOLs, KOCs that do not ensure the conditions according to the provisions of law.
Assessing this issue, Mr. Nguyen Minh Man - Deputy General Director of Vina Group International Tourism Joint Stock Company said that social networks becoming a channel to inspire and sell tourism products is an inevitable trend. However, it is necessary to clearly distinguish between tour promotion and direct travel service business.
If KOL, KOC cooperate with licensed travel businesses, this is a positive cooperation model. Conversely, when individuals self-design programs, gather customers, collect money and organize tours, it is necessary to clearly define legal status and responsibility to customers" - Mr. Man analyzed.
The extended September 2nd holiday has increased tourism demand, while the capacity to provide transportation, accommodation and services at many destinations is limited. This is also the time when social networks easily create a large number of customers in a very short time.
A person can sell tours very quickly but is not sure to have enough capacity to operate a safe tourist group. Therefore, during peak holidays, it is even more necessary to promote transparency, organizational capacity and responsibility to tourists.
Mr. Man emphasized that tourists can completely find tourism inspiration, find programs and explore destinations through social networks. However, before paying, tourists must check the seller, organizing unit, contract, license, insurance and responsibility in case of incidents.
