On January 1, 2025, at the place that first welcomes sunlight on the mainland of Vietnam, the national scenic spot Bai Mon - Mui Dien (Hoa Tam commune, Dong Hoa town) held the flag-raising ceremony for the new year 2025 and welcomed the first tourists to Phu Yen province.
At exactly 8:30 a.m., the national flag-raising ceremony took place in a solemn and sacred atmosphere. Under the national flag, everyone sang the Vietnamese National Anthem, joining in the moment of welcoming the new year 2025.
Ms. Milly, a tourist from the US, shared: "During the trip to Tuy Hoa City, my family heard that Mui Dien would hold a flag-raising ceremony at the beginning of the year. We prepared early in the morning to be here. Although the weather was quite cold, that did not affect the atmosphere of the ceremony. The ceremony was very solemn and meaningful."
The New Year flag-raising ceremony and activities to welcome the first tourists to Mui Dien, aim to promote the image of the national scenic spot Bai Mon - Mui Dien to domestic tourists and international friends.
This is also an opportunity to preserve and promote the value of relics and scenic spots, serving the development of tourism in the province. This event is also the starting point for a series of cultural, sports and tourism activities in Phu Yen province in 2025.
Mr. Dao My - Vice Chairman of Phu Yen Provincial People's Committee said that the flag-raising ceremony at the beginning of the new year 2025 has a very important meaning, opening a series of major events in the year such as: Celebrating the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam; 80 years of the founding of the country; 135 years of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday...
"We stand under the national flag, sing the Vietnamese National Anthem, in the moment of welcoming the new year 2024 with faith, determination and aspiration to build our homeland Phu Yen more and more beautiful.
On behalf of the leaders of Phu Yen province, I would like to welcome and wish all leaders, delegates, tourists, compatriots and comrades a new year filled with good health, happiness, peace and prosperity," said Mr. Dao My.
Along with the flag-raising ceremony, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Phu Yen province and Dong Hoa town organized a reception and presented gifts to the first tourists to the national scenic spot Bai Mon - Mui Dien.
