On the morning of January 1, 2025, the Department of Tourism of Binh Dinh province held a ceremony to welcome guests on the first flight to the province on the occasion of the New Year 2025.
This is an annual event to demonstrate the cultural tradition of hospitality of Binh Dinh people, while bringing luck and peace to visitors on the first day of the year.
On the first day of the new year, Phu Cat airport welcomed 14 flights, of which flight VN1392 of Vietnam Airlines was the first flight to land at Phu Cat airport (at 8:10), bringing 180 passengers to Binh Dinh. Notably, the flight had 7 passengers from Korea and 1 passenger from Europe.
Singer Quach Thanh Danh - one of the passengers on the flight shared: "I was really surprised, because this was the first time I was welcomed so grandly on New Year's Day, when I just got off the plane. This is a very special activity of Binh Dinh, leaving many impressions on me and everyone.
I have been to Binh Dinh many times, and each time I see Binh Dinh "changing its skin" day by day. On the occasion of the New Year, I would like to send my best wishes to everyone and wish the province's tourism industry to develop more and more strongly."
As one of the first foreign tourists to set foot in Binh Dinh on the first day of the year, Jiwon Kim (26 years old, Seoul, Korea) said: "I traveled to Ho Chi Minh City, Da Lat and now Quy Nhon. After researching, I found Quy Nhon to be very beautiful and had many attractive dishes, so I decided to come here. I am very happy to be warmly welcomed by everyone like this, I will definitely come back here many more times."
At the ceremony, Mr. Tran Van Thanh - Director of Binh Dinh Province Department of Tourism said that the event is the province's way of sending a message about the hospitality of local people.
"Welcoming the first guests not only creates an exciting atmosphere for tourists but also spreads the image of friendly and hospitable Binh Dinh people. This is a meaningful start to a new year full of hope for the province's tourism industry," said Mr. Thanh.
