On November 21, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will organize a scientific workshop on "Conservation of ethnic minority culture associated with sustainable tourism development" to clarify the role, significance and sustainable value of traditional culture in the life of ethnic minority communities.
This is an academic forum for scientists, experts, managers, businesses and artisans to discuss, share experiences, introduce models as well as consult policies and mechanisms to support cultural preservation associated with tourism development.
The content of the workshop focused on analyzing factors affecting cultural conservation in the context of urbanization, globalization and tourism today. Delegates will propose scientific and practical solutions to preserve and promote typical intangible cultural values such as language, festivals, customs, costumes, folk arts, indigenous knowledge, traditional handicrafts, etc.

At the same time, the workshop also aims to research and evaluate community cultural tourism models associated with the rational exploitation of traditional cultural resources, promoting the role of ethnic minorities in creating and introducing ethnic culture.
The workshop includes 3 main groups of topics: The current situation of preserving and promoting ethnic minority cultural values associated with community tourism development in Vietnam; The relationship between cultural conservation and tourism development: opportunities, challenges and sustainable orientation; Orientation and solutions for preserving and promoting intangible culture, craft villages, festivals, folk arts associated with tourism, support policies and coordination mechanisms between management agencies, tourism businesses and the community.
The workshop is expected to be attended by about 100-120 delegates, including leaders of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism; representatives of central departments, ministries and branches; People's Committees of provinces and cities; Departments, Departments and units under the Ministry; and representatives of the Departments of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Departments of Culture, Sports and Tourism of localities. In addition, there were the participation of scientists, experts, university lecturers, folk artisans, excellent artisans and press and television agencies.
The workshop is expected to contribute to raising social awareness, strengthening inter-sectoral and inter-regional coordination in strategic planning and planning tourism development associated with preserving and promoting traditional cultural values of ethnic minorities - towards the goal of sustainable development and promoting Vietnamese cultural identity to international friends.
