The 3 countries of the holding festival are organized by Dien Bien province, the event is also attended by Lai Chau province; Phong-Sa-ly province (Laos) and Jiangcheng district, Pu'er city, Yunnan province (China).
With the theme "Solidarity, friendship - strengthening the border - Developing together", the festival takes place over 3 days from December 19 to 21.
The series of activities includes rich cultural, sports and tourism events, imbued with traditional identity, promising to create an impressive experience space for people and tourists.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Minh Phu - Vice Chairman of Dien Bien Provincial People's Committee emphasized that throwing is also a long-standing traditional cultural beauty of the ethnic groups in Northwest Vietnam, Northern Laos and Southwest China.
Throwing games are also a symbol of community solidarity, trust and aspiration for a prosperous and happy life - Vice Chairman of Dien Bien Provincial Peoples Committee said.
According to Mr. Phu, this is a precious occasion to promote the image of the land and people of Dien Bien with beautiful nature, heroic history and friendship and affection to international friends.
After the opening ceremony, there is a special art program, elaborately staged with 2 chapters: "Weaving a flower strip" and "Wetching Up Solidarity - Towards the Future".
The 13 art performances are a harmonious combination of traditional materials and modern styles, creating an emotional cultural space, clearly depicting the unique identity of ethnic groups in the border of the fatherland.
