In particular, Dien Bien owns 22 national intangible cultural heritages, of which 2 were recognized by UNESCO as representative intangible cultural heritages of humanity.
The highlight that creates the attraction of Dien Bien is also the colorful cultural picture of 19 ethnic groups. Recognizing this potential, in recent years, community tourism activities have been initially given attention and developed.

Currently, there are 14 community tourism activities in the province with more than 40 homestay models. villages and households have proactively invested and exploited traditional cultural values combined with agricultural production to serve the sightseeing and experience needs of tourists.
Recently, Dien Bien Phu ward announced and opened Phieng Loi community tourism destination. This is a village where 100% of Thai ethnic people and Thai Den ethnic group live.
As a locality that gathers many potentials and advantages, creating momentum for sustainable and long-term development. Dien Bien Phu ward has a central location, convenient transportation infrastructure with Dien Bien Airport, and a dense system of Dien Bien Phu battlefield relics.
According to Mr. Nguyen Quang Hung - Secretary of Dien Bien Phu Ward, the locality identifies tourism development associated with national cultural identity as not only an economic goal but also a path to preserve traditional values.

According to the plan, Dien Bien Phu ward will continue to put into operation the "Culinary Area, Night-time Economic Walking Street", completing the infrastructure in Phieng Loi and Ke Nenh.
