The event is part of the celebration of the 120th anniversary of Ha Dong's founding (December 6, 1904 - December 6, 2024), the 2024 Craft Village Culture - Tourism - Trade Week with the theme "Ha Dong Silk Hometown - Convergence of quintessence".
Mr. Nguyen Van Du - Chairman of Van Phuc Ward People's Committee, Head of the Organizing Committee said that Van Phuc Craft Village Culture - Tourism - Trade Week was started in 2013.
After 4 times of organization, the event has become a typical product, a source of pride contributing to spreading traditional cultural values, unique heritage - silk weaving and diverse local services to domestic and international tourists.
With the aim of further promoting the traditional silk weaving profession, enhancing tourism promotion activities, introducing to visitors the diverse local industry activities, the Van Phuc Craft Village Culture - Tourism - Trade Week 2024 is divided into 3 parts: The ceremony part with the highlight being the procession honoring the Craft Ancestor with the participation of over 1,000 people to show gratitude to Duc Duong Canh Thanh Hoang - A La De Nuong - Nga Hoang Dai Vuong, who had the merit of recruiting people, establishing Van Bao hamlet (now Van Phuc), and teaching the people of Van Phuc the silk weaving profession.
The festival is a diverse combination of international and national intangible cultural heritages such as water puppetry, puppetry, ca tru, hau dong performances... and the cultural space of traditional craft villages of Hanoi including: Quang Phu Cau incense village, Phu Vinh bamboo and rattan handicrafts, Trach Xa ao dai and Van Phuc silk, creating a unique and colorful cultural and artistic space.
Trade section - Promoting craft villages with a free electric car model, serving tourists visiting historical and cultural relics such as: President Ho Chi Minh Memorial House, the relic cluster of Communal House - Pagoda - Temple - Shrine to worship the Craft Ancestors to promote and introduce to tourists that coming to Van Phuc is coming to the "Revolutionary Red Address", to the silk village over 1,000 years old, to the Silk Street, the antique market street - old items, ornamental plants and cuisine...
Van Phuc Culture - Tourism - Trade Week 2024 promises to have many diverse and rich cultural, artistic and commercial activities to attract tourists to learn and experience the history, traditional culture and beauty of the people of Van Phuc silk village in particular and Ha Dong in general.
The event is expected to contribute to preserving and promoting the value of intangible cultural heritage - traditional silk weaving; enhancing the promotion of tourism potential and strengths; strongly promoting tourism cooperation between craft villages in Hanoi; linking sustainable tourism development with socio-economic development in the area.
In addition, the event also introduced to visitors the unique products of the craft village through the ages and introduced the main stages of the traditional Van Phuc silk weaving craft, which were dramatized under the performance of artisans, skilled workers and people of Van Phuc silk village - the generations that will continue the traditional craft of their homeland.
