On March 9, the Office of the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province said that the province has issued directives on ensuring food safety (FS) in the area in 2026.
Accordingly, Khanh Hoa sets out many specific goals to improve the efficiency of food safety management and practice.
In which, 100% of leaders and management officials related to the food sector must have knowledge and correct practice of food safety. The province also strives to achieve 91% of food producers, processors and traders with knowledge and correct practice of food safety regulations.
Regarding inspection and supervision activities, Khanh Hoa sets a target that 91% of food production and business establishments and food service establishments when inspected must meet food safety requirements.
At the same time, 91% of establishments that are required to be granted a Certificate of eligibility for food safety will be granted a certificate according to regulations.
The province also aims to effectively control the risk of food poisoning, with the incidence rate in food poisoning cases recorded being below 7 cases per 100,000 people.
To achieve the above goals, Khanh Hoa province requests to strengthen inspection and control to promptly detect and prevent violations in food production, processing and business.
At the same time, effectively control smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, banned goods and poor quality food.
In addition, the province requests to strengthen food safety control in tourist areas - places with a large concentration of tourists - in order to build an image of a safe and friendly destination.
Some areas emphasized include Binh Hung Island, Vinh Hy Bay and Kinh Beach.
Through propaganda activities, people will be guided to recognize clean food, practice food safety measures in eating and drinking, and gradually form the habit of choosing safe food.
Recorded from tourism businesses, many units believe that strengthening food safety inspections is necessary to ensure service quality and maintain the reputation of destinations.
A representative of a tourism service business in the Binh Hung Island area said that tourism establishments all want a transparent business environment and clear-sourced food to ensure safety for tourists.
According to this representative, if inspection work is carried out regularly, publicly and in accordance with regulations, it will help eliminate poor quality business establishments, contributing to enhancing the image of Khanh Hoa tourism in the eyes of domestic and foreign tourists.
