On October 4, the People's Committee of Vung Tau Ward (HCMC) opened a number of sports activities in the area, opening a series of cultural - tourism - culinary events under the Nghinh Ong Thang Tam Festival in 2025.
According to the People's Committee of Vung Tau Ward, this is not only a traditional festival of fishermen in the coastal area, carrying profound spiritual values with the aspiration for abundance, a prosperous life... but also a key cultural - tourism event of the locality.
At the same time, it will be included in a series of major city-level festival activities in 2025, contributing to affirming the position and brand of Ho Chi Minh City in general and Vung Tau ward in particular.
This year, the festival has many exciting, rich and diverse activities to attract tourists, promote the image of "Vung Tau - Special Cultural, Sports and Sea Tourism Destination", lasting until October 13.
Immediately after the opening ceremony, delegates, people, and tourists participated in a 1,000m walk (from Thuy Van Square to the Martyrs Monument and vice versa); a sports folk dance festival with vibrant performances.
On the same day, Nghinh Ong Culinary Culture Week also began; the painting contest and children's painting exhibition lasted until October 12, held in Bai Truoc area.
According to the plan, on October 5, the Vung Tau beach swimming competition will take place, attracting more than 300 male and female athletes to participate, held in the Bai Sau area.
The main festival took place over 3 days from October 7 to October 9 (ie from August 16 to August 18 of the lunar calendar) with many solemn rituals such as: Nghinh Ong Festival at sea, Nghinh Ong festival and parade on the streets, a royal court ceremony at the village communal house...
