On February 26, Thang Long high-speed train officially resumed operation, transporting passengers on the Vung Tau - Con Dao route and vice versa after about 6 months of temporary suspension of operation.
On the first day of operation, Thang Long transported more than 500 passengers moving from Vung Tau to Con Dao. Operating at a time when travel and tourism demand is high after the Lunar New Year has created more choices for people in Ho Chi Minh City and neighboring provinces who want to come to Con Dao. At the same time, it contributes to creating momentum for sea and island tourism activities in the peak season of 2026.
Ms. Thanh Loan (Tam Thang ward, Ho Chi Minh City) was one of the first passengers on the train on its first day of operation again.
She said: "Previously, if I wanted to go to Con Dao, I had to move to Tan Son Nhat airport to buy air tickets to Con Dao, which was quite troublesome. Now I only need to move from home to the train in the morning, and after about 4 hours I have arrived at Con Dao.
According to Phu Quoc High-Speed Ferry Joint Stock Company (Phu Quoc Express), in addition to resuming operation and restoring transportation output on the route after a long period of interruption, the unit also implements more flexible ticket prices from only 410,000 VND to 79,000 VND, applied from March 15 to July 12 for all passengers.
Ticket prices are reduced by about 40% compared to current tickets (790,000 to 1,100,000 VND).

The high-speed train has a capacity of 1,017 passengers with 4 floors, including the highest Café Roof Top area serving relaxation and sea viewing needs.
From now until March 14, Thang Long high-speed train will depart from Vung Tau to Con Dao at 7:30 am on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays; the opposite direction from Con Dao departs at 1:00 pm on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays every week, with a sea trip of about 3:30 am.
From March 15th, Thang Long high-speed train is expected to operate 2 trips in a day, departing from Vung Tau to Con Dao at 7:30 am, and from Con Dao to Vung Tau at 1 pm daily, until the end of the preferential time.
