On January 20, leaders of the Department of Construction of Lam Dong province said that the unit has approved the Phu Quy Express express train to participate in passenger transport on the Phan Thiet - Phu Quy route and vice versa.

This is a high-speed train with a capacity of 374 passengers, and is also the first two-wheeled train on this route to be designed with berths, contributing to improving the quality of passenger service.
Previously, Phu Quy Express train used to operate the Phan Thiet - Phu Quy route, then switched to operating the Ho Chi Minh City - Con Dao route.
The return of trains to operate the Phan Thiet - Phu Quy route near Tet is expected to reduce pressure on existing trains, especially in the context of a sharp increase in passenger volume.

From October every year, when the Northeast monsoon is strong, the weather conditions at sea are often unfavorable, causing many high-speed boats to temporarily stop or limit trips.
Therefore, adding two-hulled high-speed trains at this time helps people and tourists have more safe and convenient choices when going to the island.
Representatives of the railway company said that the number of pre-booked tickets for the Lunar New Year is increasing rapidly, concentrated in large numbers from the 2nd day of Tet onwards.
Phu Quy islanders also expect a double-hulled, sleeper boat to help make the journey smoother, limiting seasickness, especially for the elderly and children.
Phu Quy Special Zone is 56 nautical miles from the mainland. Currently, the travel time from Phan Thiet to the island by high-speed boat is about 2.5 hours from Phan Thet port. In recent years, Phu Quy has become a destination chosen by many tourists thanks to its pristine beauty, clear blue sea and many unique natural landscapes.
