Thailand tours are currently taking place normally. The Thai Tourism Administration recommends that tourists follow information and contact for support when necessary.

The Malaysian Prime Minister announced that the leaders of Cambodia and Thailand have reached a ceasefire agreement, effective from 0:00 on July 29. The two sides also agreed to hold an informal meeting between the leaders of Military Region 1 and Military Region 2 of Thailand and the leaders of Military Region 4 and Military Region 5 of Cambodia on the same morning.

However, the border conflict between Thailand and Cambodia has made many tourists somewhat concerned when choosing to travel to the two countries in recent times.

Phuong Linh (29 years old, Hanoi) shared: "I hunted for cheap air tickets to travel to Thailand 2 months ago, since the conflict on the Thai - Cambodian border broke out. As the departure date approaches, I am quite worried about safety."

However, referring to friends who have recently traveled to Thailand, Phuong Linh received information that the security situation at tourist destinations was stable, almost unchanged. Therefore, she still departed for Thailand early next month.

In fact, on social networks, many travel businesses still open tours for sale in Thailand. As for Cambodia, the number of visitors is somewhat smaller because this is not a favorite destination for Vietnamese tourists in the summer.

Talking to Lao Dong, Mr. Bui Thanh Tu - Marketing Director of BestPrice travel company said: "Our Thailand tour still welcomes guests with a normal and safe schedule. Border conflicts do not affect domestic tourism. Tourists also do not have a heavy mentality or are too cautious when participating in the journey".

Mr. Tu added that a group of company guests completed their tour in Thailand and returned to Vietnam on July 27. Tourists all feel comfortable and satisfied with the tour as well as absolute safety. In the near future, the company will continue to welcome another group of guests to Thailand on August 6.

Similarly, Mr. Pham Van Bay, Deputy Director of Vietravel Hanoi branch, informed: "The number of tourists going on tours to Thailand this year has decreased slightly compared to last year, but this has been a common situation since the beginning of the year. With the border conflict between the two countries, we have not recorded any special changes in tour schedules as well as a decrease in the number of visitors.

With the company's recent Thailand trips, everything is still going normally, without affecting the schedule. Tourists are also somewhat more assured by positive information about the conflict situation between Thailand and Cambodia".

According to tourists and travel companies, entertainment and shopping destinations in major cities of Thailand such as Bangkok, Pattaya... are still very crowded and bustling. All activities remain normal.

Previously, on July 25, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) officially announced the situation at the Thailand - Cambodia border.

In response to recent information about the unrest in some areas along the Thailand - Cambodia border, TAT expressed concern and affirmed that the safety and security of all tourists, both domestically and internationally, is always a top priority.

The announcement stated: "Currently, Thai security agencies are quickly deploying measures to closely monitor and manage the situation. TAT is coordinating with relevant government agencies and local units to ensure safety and convenience for all tourists in this area.

TAT recommends that tourists regularly update information from official government sources".

In addition, TAT also proposed measures to support or answer questions related to tourism. Accordingly, tourists can contact the TAT Tourist Support Center via 1672 (operating 24 hours a day), or the Tourist Police hotline via 1155.
