On December 30, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism organized a conference to summarize the Ho Chi Minh City tourism industry in 2025 and deploy key tasks for 2026.
According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, in 2025, the number of international visitors to the city is estimated at about 8.5 million; domestic tourists reached about 45 million; total revenue from tourism is estimated at about 278,000 billion VND.
The city's tourism industry sets a target for 2026 to welcome about 11 million international visitors, and domestic tourists to reach about 50 million. Total tourism revenue is estimated at 330,000 billion VND.

Mr. Nguyen Trung Khanh - Director of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism said that Ho Chi Minh City is entering a new development space, with a larger scale, increasingly clear regional center and international gateway roles, inter-regional and international connectivity capacity is expanded in terms of infrastructure, market and tourism development space.
This is a great opportunity for the city to reposition itself more strongly on the regional and international tourism map, especially in the fields of urban tourism, MICE tourism, event tourism, cultural tourism and high-quality experiential products.
However, the greater the opportunity, the higher the requirements set. The new development space requires the Ho Chi Minh City tourism industry to innovate more strongly in development thinking, growth models and management methods, shifting from "making more" to "making more", from rapid expansion to sustainable development, from administrative management to smart governance. Thereby, affirming the leading, leading and spreading role of Ho Chi Minh City tourism for national tourism.

Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee believes that Ho Chi Minh City's tourism industry will develop to the standard of a city named after Uncle Ho with the aspirations of more than 14 million people in 2026 and the following years. At the same time, continue to achieve double-digit growth and continue to show the spirit and bravery to overcome difficulties to make a solid breakthrough.
