On December 4, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism said that the city welcomed 45 million visitors in 2024, including 6,000,000 international visitors and 38,000,000 domestic visitors, an increase of 8.6% over the same period in 2023.
Total tourism revenue reached 190,000 billion VND, up 18.8% over the same period last year (160,000 billion VND in 2023), reaching 100% of the 2024 plan.
According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, one of the important contributions to this result is thanks to the development of MICE tourism (a type of tourism combining conferences, seminars, exhibitions, event organization, and incentive travel for employees and partners). MICE tourism has contributed to promoting the rapid recovery and strong transformation of Ho Chi Minh City's tourism industry.
MICE is identified by the Ho Chi Minh City tourism industry as one of seven unique tourism products with great potential that need to be promoted in the tourism development strategy.
There are many MICE groups coming to the city such as groups from the US, India, South Africa... Most recently, from December 2-5, Ho Chi Minh City welcomed a group of 1,000 guests from India. This group visited destinations such as the War Remnants Museum, City Theater; City Post Office...
Ms. Bui Thi Ngoc Hieu - Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism said that the city's tourism industry is striving to build unique products so that visitors to Ho Chi Minh City can explore an Eastern city that is on the path of modernization and integration, but still retains its own identity. At the same time, it is building a favorable and safe environment for visitors to Ho Chi Minh City.
