The Ban Gioc Waterfall (Vietnam) - Detian (China) scenic area was officially put into operation on October 15, marking an important step forward in cross-border tourism cooperation.
Visitors have the opportunity to visit the waterfall from both the Vietnamese and Chinese sides, with unique, majestic and poetic views. The back and forth activities are organized in groups (maximum 20 people), with a visit time of no more than 6 hours per trip.
The tour itinerary is richly designed, if departing from Vietnam, it will include prominent locations such as the foot of Ban Gioc waterfall to the International Street, the road and the viewing platform from above. At the International Street, visitors can experience shopping, enjoy Vietnamese - Chinese cuisine and admire traditional art.
In the opposite direction, groups of tourists from China to Vietnam will experience traditional cultural features such as Then singing and Tinh lute, visiting Ban Gioc waterfall with 3 sub-waterfalls...
Returning to Vietnam after 6 hours of experiencing the landscape area on the Duc Thien side (China), Ms. Nguyen My Anh, a tourist from Hanoi, shared: "I feel very excited and delighted, it is always very crowded and has many performances. There are also many souvenir stalls suitable for tourists. The food is also very rich, including both Vietnamese and Chinese dishes."
The project contributes to promoting green tourism development, cultural exchange and friendship between the two countries. This is considered a model of tourism cooperation, helping to enrich tourism products and enhance sustainable development. From September 2023 to present, the management unit has recorded over 20,000 visitors coming and going.
The official operation of the Ban Gioc - Duc Thien Waterfall Scenic Area is an important event in economic development cooperation, friendly exchange in the border area, especially tourism development, and enhancing people-to-people exchange between the two provinces of Cao Bang (Vietnam) and Guangxi (China).
According to the Management Board of Cao Bang Economic Zone, the locality is aiming to build more diverse cross-border tourist routes, at least for day trips.
From Tra Linh international border gate, tourists can visit Thang Hen lake, Mat Than mountain or some other places within the travel range in a day. Conversely, Vietnamese tourists can also go to China and return in a day.
Up to now, every day there are passenger vans from inside and outside the province coming to Tra Linh international border gate. After upgrading, traveling will be much more convenient.
