Currently, Tuyen Quang has 67 travel service businesses. Including 42 international travel businesses and 25 domestic travel businesses.
The locality has 111 organizations, households, and individuals doing business in motorbike rental services with a total of 2,472 vehicles.
Attracting tourists is like that, however, this type of tourism poses many unsafe risks if not managed closely.
Faced with this situation, Tuyen Quang province is implementing many measures to tighten management and build safe and high-quality tourist tours to the rocky plateau.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Huyen - Head of Tourism Management Department (Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Tuyen Quang) said that the actual operating scale of motorbike tour activities is much larger than the official registration data.
Besides establishments registered for business according to regulations, there are also many individual households and individuals participating in serving tourists in a spontaneous form. Especially the tourist motorbike taxi force, local people directly lead tourists on experiential routes," Ms. Huyen said.
Many tourism programs do not ensure compliance with regulations such as no travel contracts, no tour guides arranged, no insurance for guests, and no safety and rescue plans developed.
The forces directly serving customers such as tourist motorbike taxis and local people leading tourists are mostly general laborers. These people have not been formally trained in professional skills, foreign languages, first aid, rescue and handling of emergencies.
Faced with the above situation, Tuyen Quang is implementing many solutions to tighten management. The focus is on comprehensively reviewing the subjects participating in motorcycle tour activities.
Orienting the construction of a unified management database, strengthening inspection and strictly handling violations.
Reorganize motorcycle tour activities in the direction that travel businesses are the central entity fully responsible. Related services such as car rental, vehicle drivers must participate on the basis of linkage contracts, ensuring control.
Along with that, the tour organization process will be standardized from program development, vehicle inspection, safety guidance, personnel arrangement to insurance and rescue.
