Tourism businesses calculate business
Mr. Tran Van Thao, Director of Vietravel Tourism Joint Stock Company - Ca Mau Branch - Chairman of the Ca Mau Tourism Association - said that after the merger of Bac Lieu and Ca Mau, the new Ca Mau province has opened up great development opportunities for tourism businesses.
Rich tourism products, more tourist destinations, more diversity... create conditions for businesses to develop tourism.

According to Mr. Thao, in the near future, businesses will redraw the tourism map, linking tours and tour routes so that tourists can visit more tourism products.
When visiting the new Ca Mau, visitors can not only visit Ca Mau Cape, Ca Mau Cape National Park, U Minh Ha National Park, Phi Da Bac or Song Tram Tourist Area... but also visit the likes of Cong Tu Bac Lieu House, Hoa Binh 1 Wind Power Plant, Nam Bo Bo Bo Bo Bo Cac Doan Khuc, Xiem Can Pagoda...
The problem is to redesign tours and routes in parallel with communication so that tourists can choose suitable locations.
Mr. Thao affirmed: "In the long term, Ca Mau tourism will certainly develop strongly when the Can Tho - Ca Mau expressway is completed; Ca Mau airport is expanded".

According to Mr. Hoang Quoc Viet - Director of Cong Tu Bac Lieu Tourism Service Joint Stock Company - in the near future, the business will deeply exploit the cultural values of "Cong Tu Bac Lieu" and the identity of the West to build experience models such as: folk games, iron ball courts, swimming pools for children, outdoor stages, court music...
The unit will enhance digital communication, apply technology to reach target customers through social networking platforms, online booking systems and customer closeness programs.

This enterprise also promotes cooperation with travel agencies, hotels, restaurants and transportation units to create comprehensive service packages, reduce costs and increase competitiveness.
Coordinate with businesses in the industry and outside the industry (communications, events, local agricultural products, etc.) to create a unique tourism value chain for Ca Mau after the merger.
Overcoming limitations, promoting strengths to make breakthroughs
In the first half of 2025, the total number of visitors to Ca Mau reached 5.12 million, an increase of 18% over the same period in 2024. Total revenue from tourism is estimated at VND 4,890 billion, up 16.3% over the same period.

After the merger, visitors to Ca Mau can now visit many famous heritages and tourist attractions in the old Bac Lieu province, such as: Bac Lieu Prince's House, Quan Am Nam Hai Buddhist Monument, and Nha Mat Tourist Area. This addition helps enrich the province's tourism products while also enhancing the attractiveness to visitors.

Despite its great potential, the Ca Mau tourism industry still faces many challenges. The situation of overlapping tourism products with localities in the Mekong Delta and in Ca Mau province is a noteworthy issue.
Long geographical location and limited tourism infrastructure are also barriers. Many tourist attractions in the province are still small, lacking key investment; lacking 4-5 star resorts, large-scale entertainment complexes, and vibrant shopping - culinary - nightlife centers.
In addition, tourism human resources, especially management teams, are also limited in quality.

Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ca Mau province, Ly Vy Trieu Duong, said that after the merger, tourism activities of Ca Mau province will continue to maintain stable development in conjunction with the goal of sustainable development, resource conservation and promotion of the potential and strengths of eco-tourism, culture - history, beliefs and typical cuisine of the Mekong Delta.

According to Mr. Ly Vy Trieu Duong, in the last months of 2025, the provincial tourism industry will strengthen State management of tourism, step up inspection and supervision of service business activities to ensure a green, clean and beautiful tourism environment. At the same time, promote and advertise tourism on digital platforms and expand links with reputable travel businesses.
Training and fostering human resources is also focused on, especially foreign language skills and civilized communication and behavior in the tourism environment. The industry will continue to invest in upgrading transport infrastructure, parking lots, stops and auxiliary service systems in tourist areas and destinations.
