Vietnam welcomes highest number of international visitors since the beginning of the year

International visitors to Vietnam in November 2024 reached 1.7 million arrivals, up 20.5% over the previous month and up 38.8% over the same period in 2024.

In the first 11 months of 2024, international visitors to our country reached more than 15.8 million arrivals, an increase of 41.0% over the same period last year.

Asia contributes nearly 80% of the total number of international visitors to Vietnam. The four major markets in Northeast Asia, including China, South Korea, Taiwan, and Japan, contribute nearly 60%.

Among the 10 largest markets for Vietnamese tourism, South Korea is the number one market sending visitors with 4.1 million arrivals (accounting for 26.1%). China ranks second, reaching 3.3 million arrivals (accounting for 21.2%).

Taiwan (China) market ranked 3rd (1.1 million arrivals), the US ranked 4th (706,000 arrivals), Japan ranked 5th (656,000 arrivals). Next are India, Malaysia, Australia, Cambodia and Thailand.

In November 2024, most markets increased compared to the previous month. In particular, international visitors from Europe increased sharply compared to October 2024, including: Russia increased by 40.9%, UK increased by 32.7%, France increased by 44.2%, Germany increased by 38.1%, Italy increased by 87.5%, Poland increased by 237.6%.

Meanwhile, Asia also witnessed an increase in visitors from China (+11.1%), South Korea (+8.8%), Japan (+27.0%), Taiwan (+5.0%), Malaysia (+34.8%), Singapore (+43.2%), India (23.5%)...

According to the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, with the effectiveness of open visa policies and vibrant promotion and advertising activities, international visitors to Vietnam have increased rapidly in the last months of the year and the tourism industry is expected to complete the target of welcoming 17-18 million international visitors in 2024.
