Khanh Hoa wants to attract international tourists to travel by train

Khanh Hoa - Cross-Vietnam train tourism is expected to be a new tourism product for 2025, attracting a large number of international tourists to Nha Trang.

Experience cross-Vietnam train travel

Khanh Hoa Province Department of Tourism has just coordinated with other units to welcome a group of nearly 500 tourists from China traveling by train across Vietnam to Nha Trang, Khanh Hoa.

According to the schedule, tourists enter Vietnam and depart from Hanoi Station - Da Nang - Binh Thuan - Ho Chi Minh City. Tourists return on train number SNT4 from Saigon Station - Nha Trang - Hue - Hanoi.

In Nha Trang, the group stayed for 1 night and visited some tourist attractions such as: Ponagar Tower, Hon Chong, Tram Huong Tower, Thap Ba Nha Trang Hot Spring Center, VinWonder Nha Trang, Nha Trang Bay. Then the group continued to move to Hue and returned to Hanoi. The total itinerary for the cross-Vietnam train trip is 10 days.

For the first time experiencing cross-Vietnam train travel, Ms. Yuan Jiaxin got off at Nha Trang Station and quickly felt the friendliness when receiving the welcoming wreaths.

Sharing about the places she visited during her unique train trip, Ms. Yuan Jiaxin, a Chinese tourist, said: “The train took me through beautiful roads, and during the time on the train, I enjoyed the scenery of the sea, forests, and Vietnamese countryside... and many services and specialties were introduced directly. My family and I discussed famous stops in Vietnam. It was a very different experience from the means of travel I have enjoyed.”

Developing tourist train routes for the future

According to Mr. Le Quang Chinh - Director of Nha Trang Railway Transport Branch, since the beginning of November, the unit has coordinated to organize the transportation of 10 tourist trains carrying more than 4,000 international tourists. This is a positive signal, opening up a new customer segment for the railway industry in 2025.

“The railway industry has served many international tourists visiting destinations across the country in the past, but these are the first full trips. The unit has also prepared full facilities, worked with travel agencies to build the best transportation plan, bringing tourists the most comfortable experiences when traveling on trains.

From now until the end of 2024, Nha Trang Railway Transport Branch is expected to welcome 10 more cross-Vietnam charter trains with more than 4,000 international passengers, mainly Chinese. In 2025, the railway industry is implementing a plan to focus on developing this group of passengers," Mr. Chinh shared.

A cross-Vietnam charter train tour is being piloted. According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Le Thanh - Director of Khanh Hoa Department of Tourism, this will be a tourism product that attracts visitors in 2025.

Ms. Thanh said that although not new, organizing large group tours with many stops to provide tourists with many cultural experiences and Vietnamese people in one trip is very new.

In the coming time, Khanh Hoa tourism industry will work with tourism and service units to complete the cross-Vietnam train tourism product, contributing new tourism products, aiming to make Khanh Hoa tourism one of the top destinations on the Asian tourism map.
