This is the largest annual international tourism fair in Bulgaria. This year's fair attracts more than 180 booths from travel businesses, hotels, resorts of Bulgaria and 12 countries (Vietnam, Romania, Serbia, Greece, Turkey, Austria, Italy, China, Algeria, Uzbekistan, Uganda, Mauritius)
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Bulgarian Minister of Tourism Miroslav Borshosh emphasized that 2025 is the most successful year in the history of Bulgaria's tourism industry with more than 13.5 million foreign visitors. Contacting Minister of Tourism Miroslav Borshosh on the sidelines of the event, Ambassador Nguyen Thi Minh Nguyet suggested that the two sides continue to well implement the Tourism Cooperation Plan for the period 2024 - 2026; propose to strengthen exchanges and connections with tourism partners, share experiences in each other's strengths, promote tourism and develop human resources in the tourism industry on the basis. Minister of Tourism Miroslav Borshosh expressed his impression of the development speed of Vietnam's tourism industry, highly agreed with Ambassador Nguyen Thi Minh Nguyet's proposal and expressed his hope that Bulgaria will welcome more and more Vietnamese tourists to visit to enhance mutual understanding.
Grasping the trend that Balkan tourists are increasingly prioritizing health care and resort-combined tourism trips, the Vietnamese booth focuses on introducing Vietnam's tourism strengths in: (1) Wellness & Healthcare: Introducing traditional spa treatments and energy recovery resorts in pristine coastal or mountainous areas in the North. (2) MICE & Event Tourism: Potential to organize conferences and events combining tourism with modern infrastructure systems in major cities. (3) Heritage & Sustainability: Affirming the message "Vietnam - Timeless Heritage, Trendy Experiences", connecting long-standing cultural values with responsible tourism development.
In the context of the Bulgarian and Balkan economies recovering rapidly, the need to explore safe and unique destinations like Vietnam is increasing faster than ever. Strengthening the promotion of Vietnamese tourism in the region at this time is of practical significance, both contributing to sustainable tourism development and promoting cultural diplomacy and cultural promotion through tourism.
Sharing during the event, Ms. Le Thi Diem Hang - Vice President cum General Secretary of VNCT expressed her belief that this presence will create new momentum for the flow of tourists to exchange between the two countries. These are the first but extremely solid bricks to link Vietnamese heritage with the Southeast European market. In addition to promotional activities, VNCT also directly organizes B2B trade sessions and opens registration for a field survey (FAM trip) program specifically for regional travel agencies to directly experience the supply capacity of Vietnamese tourism.
